“Mixing Up the Medicine: Treasures from the Bob Dylan Center” is the official exhibition for the landmark, career-spanning magnum opus “Bob Dylan: Mixing Up the Medicine,” written and edited by Mark Davidson and Parker Fishel in collaboration with Callaway Books (pub. date Oct. 24, 2023).
Featuring iconic and rare photographs, never-before-seen manuscripts and extraordinary artifacts from across Dylan’s life and career, “Mixing Up the Medicine” brings the images and text of the book to life, taking the stories we thought we knew about the iconoclastic musician and turning them on their head.
Highlights include draft manuscripts of Dylan’s iconic songs, including “Subterranean Homesick Blues,” “Isis” and others; letters from the likes of Johnny Cash, George Harrison, Bruce Springsteen, Allen Ginsberg and John Lee Hooker; and photographs by Daniel Kramer, David Gahr, Danny Clinch, Ken Regan and Jerry Schatzberg.
Many of the items have never been seen, never been on display and will be shown only for the length of the exhibition in the Parker Brothers Gallery.
This exhibit is made possible through the generous support of Bob Russell.
