BOB DYLAN CENTER

Designed by Olson Kundig, the world-class Bob Dylan Center houses and exhibits exclusive cultural treasures created and owned by Bob Dylan over seven decades. These include handwritten lyric manuscripts to some of the world’s most treasured songs, previously unreleased recordings, never-before-seen film performances, rare and unseen photographs, visual art and other priceless items spanning Dylan’s unparalleled career as one of the world’s most important cultural figures.

INSIDE THE CENTER

The Bob Dylan Center serves to educate, motivate and inspire visitors to engage their own capacity as creators. While the center is anchored by a permanent exhibit on the life and work of Bob Dylan, it also offers additional exhibits, public programs, performances, lectures and publications, through which it aims to foster a conversation about the role of creativity in our lives. The 29,000-square-foot, state-of-the art center features rotating exhibits, 5,000+-square-foot archive, a 55-seat screening room and more.

AUTHENTICITY

A recreation of an authentic studio environment where visitors can experience what it was like to be present at one of Dylan’s historic recording sessions.

NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN

The Darby Family Screening Room showcases Dylan-related scripted films, documentaries and concert performances, including never-before-seen material unearthed from the archive. The room also serves as a space for special events where visiting filmmakers can screen and discuss their work.

Mixing Up the Medicine: Treasures from the Bob Dylan Center

“Mixing Up the Medicine: Treasures from the Bob Dylan Center” is the official exhibition for the landmark, career-spanning magnum opus “Bob Dylan: Mixing Up the Medicine,” written and edited by Mark Davidson and Parker Fishel in collaboration with Callaway Books (pub. date Oct. 24, 2023).  

Featuring iconic and rare photographs, never-before-seen manuscripts and extraordinary artifacts from across Dylan’s life and career, “Mixing Up the Medicine” brings the images and text of the book to life, taking the stories we thought we knew about the iconoclastic musician and turning them on their head.
