This timely installment of the Bob Dylan Center’s members-only listening series takes inspiration from the current exhibition “How Many Roads: Bob Dylan and His Changing Times, 1961–1964,” which recalls the young musician’s involvement in the Civil Rights movement and his galvanizing songs that shaped and reflected the era’s sociopolitical upheavals. Just as Dylan took to the streets and looked to the headlines—and made his own—with songs like “Only a Pawn in Their Game” and “Blowin’ in the Wind” during those tumultuous years, the artists featured in this “Ten Songs” session wield words as warnings and rhythm as rebellion, their bold, brash music changing minds, moods and history.
