For nearly five decades, Elvis Costello has sustained his singular stature as a singer, songwriter, performer, producer and musical omnivore of unparalleled brilliance. From his landmark 1977 debut “My Aim Is True” through this year’s widely acclaimed “The Boy Named If (And Other Children’s Stories),” Costello has masterfully traversed musical genres across more than thirty studio albums. He has earned multiple Grammy awards, an O.B.E. and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Costello’s hundreds of songs are characterized by sophisticated melodies, dazzling wordplay and impassioned delivery, whether accompanied by longtime band The Imposters, as a solo artist or alongside an extraordinary array of collaborators including Burt Bacharach, Paul McCartney, T Bone Burnett, Allen Toussaint, Ann Sofie von Otter and The Roots. In 2014, he took part in “Lost on the River,” a collection of previously unknown lyrics by Bob Dylan, which Costello and fellow New Basement Tapes bandmates set to new arrangements and recordings.
