As a tie-in to “They Gave The Walls A Talking: The Extraordinary Story of The Pogues and Shane MacGowan,” on view at the Bob Dylan Center through May 12, 2024, this “Ten Songs (Plus One or Two)” session celebrates music from the Emerald Isle. The playlist features traditional ballads and jigs that inspired MacGowan’s band of rabble-rousers as well as tunes both tough and tender by fellow Irish bards whose gift of gab enlivens some of the most joyous and heartbreaking Celtic music of our era.
